When you connect WhatsApp, setup can stop because your phone number already has its own PIN.

What you see

The connection stops with this message:
This phone number already has its own two-step verification PIN, and setup can’t use an existing PIN yet, so the number was not registered and nothing was connected.
On the connection, the reason reads “The phone PIN did not match”. Nothing is connected, so you can start again once you have followed the steps below.

Why it happens

Meta protects a business phone number with two-step verification, which uses a PIN. Your number already has one, and Galantis cannot use a PIN that someone else set. So it could not register the number.

What to do today

Turn off two-step verification on the number in Meta, then connect again. Galantis then sets its own PIN for the number and keeps it.
1

Open your phone number in WhatsApp Manager

In WhatsApp Manager, open “Account tools” → “Phone numbers” and select the number you are connecting.
2

Turn off two-step verification

Open the “Two-step verification” tab and follow the steps to change the PIN. At the end, select “Turn off two-step verification”. Meta emails a link to the address on your business portfolio. Open the link to finish.
3

Connect again in Galantis

Go to Settings → Connections and start the connection again, as described in Connect WhatsApp.
Meta’s menus can change. If yours differ, open your phone number’s settings in WhatsApp Manager and look for the option to turn off two-step verification. If your number has no “Two-step verification” tab, contact support from the Help menu and mention the phone number.
You’re done when the page shows WhatsApp is connected and the connection’s status is Connected.
