The Account Dashboard is the page a signed-in customer lands on. It is built from a single Account section that shows an account navigation beside three groups of cards: the customer’s most recent order, their saved addresses, and their full order history. The section’s settings are limited to the three card headings and appearance, because the data itself comes from Shopify.

What this page shows

  • A greeting with the customer’s first name and a Log out link.
  • The account navigation: Account overview, Order history and My addresses. It is a sidebar on desktop and a dropdown on mobile.
  • A Last Order card with the order number, date, payment status, fulfillment status, total and a View Order link. Hidden when the customer has no orders.
  • A My details card listing the default address and any additional addresses, each with a link to the Addresses page, or an Add an address link when none exist.
  • An Order history grid with one card per order, each linking to its Order Details page.

Getting started

1

Open the Theme Customizer

From your Shopify admin go to Online Store, then Themes, and click Customize on Olympus.
2

Choose the account template

Use the page selector at the top of the Theme Customizer, open Customers and pick Account.
3

Select the Account section

Click Account in the left sidebar to open its settings.

Settings

Three text settings name the cards: the last order card (Default: Last Order), the details card (Default: My details) and the order history grid (Default: Order history).
Paints every card on the page. Default: Scheme 2. The page background keeps the theme’s default scheme, so a contrasting card scheme separates each block of information.
Spacing is None, Small, Medium or Large (Defaults: Medium on top, Large at the bottom). Section border is None, Top, Bottom or Top and bottom (Default: None). The account pages have no Width setting; they use a fixed two-column grid.
The order statuses, addresses and totals shown here are managed by Shopify customer accounts. The theme decides how they are laid out, not what they contain. If your store uses new customer accounts, Shopify hosts the account pages itself and this template is not used; it applies to classic customer accounts.

Best practices

Keep headings literal

“Order history” and “My details” are what customers scan for. Clever labels slow them down.

Match the card scheme to forms

Use the same color scheme across all customer pages so the account area feels like one place.

Test with a real customer

Sign in with a test account that has orders and two addresses to see every card populated.

Check the mobile dropdown

On phones the navigation collapses into a dropdown labeled with the current page. Confirm it reads well with your fonts.
