The Addresses page lets signed-in customers manage the addresses used at checkout. It is built from a single Addresses section that shows the account navigation beside a list of address cards, with add and edit forms that open in place. The section’s settings are the labels of the heading, buttons and back link, plus appearance; the fields and validation are Shopify’s.

What this page shows

  • The account navigation, with My addresses highlighted.
  • A heading and an Add address button.
  • One card per saved address. The default address carries a Default badge, and each card has Edit and Delete links. Deleting asks for confirmation first.
  • A message reading “You don’t have any saved addresses yet” when the list is empty.
  • An add form and one edit form per address, hidden until the matching button is clicked. Each opens with a back link to return to the list.
The page never navigates away while addresses are managed: Add address, Edit and the back link swap between the saved address list and the matching form in place, so customers keep their position on the page. Delete asks for confirmation before an address is removed. The form fields are First name, Last name, Company (optional), Address 1, Address 2 (optional), City, Country / Region, Province, Postal / ZIP code and Phone, plus a Set as default address checkbox. The province or state list is filled from the country that is currently selected, and it disappears for countries that have none.

Getting started

1

Open the Theme Customizer

From your Shopify admin go to Online Store, then Themes, and click Customize on Olympus.
2

Choose the addresses template

Use the page selector at the top of the Theme Customizer, open Customers and pick Addresses.
3

Select the Addresses section

Click Addresses in the left sidebar to open its settings.

Settings

The page title above the list. Default: Addresses.
The first Button label names the Add address button and the add form’s submit button (Default: Add address). The Heading below it titles the edit form (Default: Edit address), and the second Button label is the edit form’s submit button (Default: Update Address).
Paints the address cards and the form cards. Default: Scheme 2.
Spacing is None, Small, Medium or Large (Defaults: Medium on top, Large at the bottom). Section border is None, Top, Bottom or Top and bottom (Default: None).
Saved addresses, the country and province lists, and address validation are managed by Shopify customer accounts. This template applies to classic customer accounts; with new customer accounts Shopify hosts the address management pages itself.

Best practices

Keep button labels consistent

Use the same verb in both submit labels, for example Add address and Update address, so the two forms feel related.

Test the country switch

Pick a country with provinces and one without to confirm the Province field appears and disappears correctly.

Encourage a default

A default address speeds up checkout. Mention it in your account welcome email if customers rarely set one.

Match other account pages

Use the same color scheme as the Account Dashboard so the cards look continuous across the account area.
