The Login page is where returning customers sign in. It is built from a single Login section that shows a sign-in form, a card inviting new visitors to create an account, and a second view for requesting a password reset that appears when the Forgot Password link is clicked. All headings, helper text and button labels are section settings, so you can match the wording to your brand voice without touching code.

What this page shows

  • A heading and short intro above the form.
  • A sign-in card with email and password fields, a Forgot Password link and a submit button that reuses the heading text.
  • A second card with a prompt and an outlined button linking to the Register page.
  • A reset view, revealed by the Forgot Password link without leaving the page, with its own heading, text, email field, submit button and a link back to sign in. After submitting, a confirmation message replaces the form.
  • Shopify’s validation errors above the fields when sign-in fails.

This template applies to classic customer accounts; new customer accounts use a Shopify-hosted sign-in with a one-time code instead.

Best practices

Say why to sign in

The intro text should list a benefit, such as tracking orders, rather than repeating the heading.

Keep the register prompt visible

New customers often land on the login page from checkout. The prompt card gives them a clear way forward.

Write a calm reset message

Tell customers to check their spam folder in the success text if reset emails are often missed.

Use one scheme for all cards

The same color scheme on Login, Register and Reset Password makes the flow feel continuous.
